Plates for Plate Heat Exchangers

 

All plates for APV heat exchangers have a special design, i.e. distribution zone of the coolant along the channel width is thoughtfully made. A special notch allows the resistance to be equalized along the channel width and to ensure a uniform flow around the plate working surface.

 

Plates of the same standard size can have a corrugation angle to the horizontal axis of 30^o  (so-called «rigid» plates) and 60^o  («soft» plates). Rigid plates are characterized by high thermal performance and high head losses, while soft plates have lower thermal performance and lower head losses. It is allowed to use both rigid and soft plates in one device. This is another way to get as close as possible to the specified performance and allowable head loss with a minimum heating surface.

 

A range of APV plates with the same flow profile, the same connection diameters and plate widths, but with different heights are also available. For example: N25, N35, N55; Q030, Q055, Q080; A055, A085, A145; J060, J092, J107, J185, etc.  Double-walled plates (Duo Safety) have been developed for particularly stringent conditions, in which it is absolutely unacceptable to let one medium enter another medium.

APV plate is made of AISI 316 stainless steel.
